Hello! We are GARACORT BASE, a professional car coating shop in Yorii Town, Saitama Prefecture.
Thank you for reading our column again today. This time, we would like to introduce a service completed for a customer who travelled all the way from Tachikawa City, Tokyo🙌
Today’s Customer: Toyota Crown Super Saloon Extra MS105
The customer who visited us this time came from Tachikawa City, Tokyo. Their cherished vehicle was a Toyota Crown Super Saloon Extra MS105, a legendary model admired by automotive enthusiasts!
The MS105 belongs to the sixth-generation Crown, produced between 1979 and 1983. Although it is now more than 40 years old, it remains a masterpiece of Japanese automotive history that continues to captivate enthusiasts today.
With its clean, straight-lined styling, luxurious presence, and the famous slogan “Someday, a Crown,” this model became an icon of its era and holds an important place in Japanese automotive history.
Meeting customers who carefully preserve such historic vehicles is something that makes us genuinely happy😊
The journey from Tachikawa City to Yorii Town, Saitama Prefecture takes approximately 90 minutes.
We sincerely appreciate the customer travelling such a long distance and choosing our shop.
Our location is convenient not only for customers searching for car coating and vehicle maintenance in Saitama, but also for those travelling from Tokyo, and we are fortunate to welcome many customers from outside the prefecture.
The Customer’s Concern: Fogging and Poor Visibility in Rainy Conditions
The main concern for this customer was poor visibility in the rain caused by contamination on the glass.
“When I drive in the rain, the windshield becomes cloudy and it is difficult to see ahead.”
“Even when I use the wipers, the view still doesn’t feel completely clear.”
“At night, the headlights of oncoming vehicles reflect and glare across the windshield, making it difficult to drive.”
Have you ever experienced similar problems?
Particularly with classic vehicles that have been carefully preserved for many years, various types of contamination gradually accumulate on the glass surface.
Oily film, mineral deposits, and scale-like water spots can become layered together, significantly reducing the transparency of the glass.
For an owner who carefully preserves a classic vehicle such as the Crown MS105, poor visibility not only interferes with safe driving, but can also reduce the enjoyment of spending time behind the wheel of such a special car.
“I want to continue enjoying this car for many years, so I want to create a driving environment that is as comfortable and safe as possible.”
Understanding the customer’s feelings, we recommended a thorough glass-care service🔍

感谢大家再次阅读本店专栏。本次为大家介绍一位特意从东京都立川市远道而来的客户施工案例🙌
本次客户车辆:丰田Crown Super Saloon Extra MS105
本次到店的客户来自东京都立川市。客户的爱车是丰田Crown Super Saloon Extra MS105,是一款令众多汽车爱好者向往的经典名车!
The service we provided to this customer was a complete oily film removal and water-repellent coating treatment for all glass surfaces.
The work was carefully carried out through the following steps.
Step 1: Preparing the Vehicle with a Warm Pure-Water Wash
We began with the washing process, which forms the foundation of the entire service. At our shop, we use warm pure water for washing.
Pure water is highly purified water from which the minerals contained in tap water have been removed. When a vehicle is washed with ordinary tap water, white marks known as water spots can remain after the droplets dry. With pure water, there is no such concern.
In addition, using warm water helps lift and remove oily contamination more effectively. Skin oils and oily residue from exhaust gases that have adhered to the glass surface can also be removed more smoothly with the power of warm water✨
Although this service focused only on the vehicle’s windows, we began by thoroughly washing the entire body.
Step 2: Thoroughly Removing Stubborn Mineral Scale and Oily Film
The stubborn contamination that ordinary washing cannot remove includes “mineral scale” and “oily film.”
Mineral scale forms when minerals contained in tap water or rainwater crystallize on the glass surface. It is called “scale” because the marks can resemble fish scales. Once it forms, ordinary washing cannot remove it, and it significantly reduces the transparency of the glass.
Oily film consists of oily residue from exhaust gases, road asphalt, waxes, and coating products that become bonded to the glass. When this contamination is present, rainwater does not flow cleanly away even when the wipers are operating, causing glare and distorted visibility.
This Crown had accumulated both types of contamination over many years of use.
At our shop, we use dedicated scale removers and oily film removers according to the type of contamination, carefully polishing every glass surface. We thoroughly clean not only the windshield, but also the side windows and rear glass.
This process requires patience and technical expertise, but taking the necessary time without compromise is the key to achieving the best possible finish💪
Step 3: Carefully Cleaning the Interior Glass as Well
It is important not to forget the inside surfaces of the windows.
In fact, poor visibility from inside the vehicle is often caused by contamination on the interior side of the glass.
The inside surfaces of automotive glass can collect oily residue released from dashboard plastics, fingerprints, and tobacco residue in vehicles used by smokers. These contaminants form an oily film that reduces visibility and can cause the headlights of oncoming vehicles to scatter and glare at night.
In this case, we carefully cleaned the interior glass using a dedicated cleaner, restoring clear visibility from inside the vehicle as well.
By thoroughly cleaning both the outside and inside surfaces, we can achieve truly clear visibility👀
Step 4: Applying a High-Quality Water-Repellent Coating
Once the glass had been thoroughly cleaned, we completed the service by applying a water-repellent coating.
We use a high-quality water-repellent coating product that forms a thin hydrophobic layer over the glass surface. During rainfall, water droplets bead up and roll away, helping maintain clear visibility.
The water-repellent coating provides two main benefits.
Even when it rains, water droplets flow smoothly off the glass surface, making it easier to maintain a clear field of view. At higher speeds, the airflow alone can blow water droplets away.
Because the wipers need to be used less frequently, this can also help extend the life of the wiper blades.
2. Helps Prevent Contamination from Bonding
The water-repellent layer makes it more difficult for oily residue and other contamination to adhere to the glass.
In other words, everyday maintenance becomes significantly easier. Your next wash will also be much simpler✨
Applying the water-repellent coating to thoroughly cleaned glass allows it to deliver its maximum performance.
This is exactly why thorough preparation and cleaning are so important.
After the service, the glass on this Crown was transformed!
The stubborn mineral scale and oily film that had accumulated over many years were completely removed, restoring the glass’s original clarity.
Under the sunlight, the glass surfaces looked beautifully clear and bright, almost like those of a new vehicle—perhaps even better.
For Owners of Classic and Historic Vehicles: Improve Safety and Comfort Through Proper Glass Care
There is something we would especially like to share with owners who carefully preserve classic and historic vehicles such as this Crown MS105.
Because these vehicles have been cherished and driven for many years, various types of contamination naturally accumulate on the glass.
This is not unusual at all. In fact, it is completely normal.
However, leaving the contamination untreated can eventually interfere with safe driving.
Poor visibility can become particularly dangerous when driving at night or in rainy conditions.
To continue enjoying your cherished vehicle safely and comfortably for many years to come, we recommend regular glass maintenance.
At our shop, we provide professional care for everything from classic and historic vehicles such as this Crown to the latest models.
Regardless of the vehicle type or model year, we carefully treat each customer’s cherished vehicle with proven professional techniques.
You can leave your vehicle with us with confidence🚗

感谢大家再次阅读本店专栏。本次为大家介绍一位特意从东京都立川市远道而来的客户施工案例🙌
本次客户车辆:丰田Crown Super Saloon Extra MS105
