Removing paint overspray after body and paint repairs was a highly challenging task, but our technical expertise allowed us to restore the vehicle to a beautiful condition. Condition Before Installation: Paint Overspray After Body Repair Had Become a Serious Problem
The Nissan Roox brought to us this time had only recently undergone body repairs to the rear section. However, the work performed at the body shop had caused an unexpected problem.
【Condition of the Entire Body】
The first issue we noticed was the countless deposits of mineral scale across the entire body. In addition to contamination accumulated through everyday use, minerals left behind when water droplets dried after washing had formed whitish spots across the paintwork. Some inland areas of Saitama Prefecture, particularly Fukaya and Kumagaya, have relatively mineral-rich water, creating conditions in which this type of scale can form easily.
An even more serious issue was the paint overspray that had spread during the repair and repainting of the rear section. When the rear panel was painted at the body shop, the surrounding areas had not been protected thoroughly enough, allowing fine paint mist to spread across the roof and large areas of the body.
This paint overspray had hardened into fine particles on the body surface, leaving it rough and unpleasant to the touch. The roof was particularly heavily affected, and its surface felt almost like sandpaper. Although the problem was difficult to notice from a distance, countless tiny raised particles became visible upon closer inspection, and the original gloss had been lost.
The customer consulted us and said, “The body repair is finished, but the entire vehicle feels rough and it really bothers me. Is there anything you can do?”
This type of paint overspray cannot be removed through ordinary washing and requires specialized professional treatment.
Step 1: Thorough Cleaning with Water Heated to Approximately 40°C
We began with the washing process, which forms the foundation of the entire service. Our shop uses a special cleaning method with water heated to approximately 40°C.
Warm-water washing offers significant benefits. Oily residue and stubborn contamination become easier to remove at higher temperatures, while mineral scale bonded to the body can also be lifted more effectively. Using a dedicated car shampoo and water heated to approximately 40°C, we carefully pre-washed the entire body.
To avoid scratching the Nissan Roox’s paintwork, we used high-quality microfiber cloths and thoroughly cleaned every detail. Warm-water washing allowed us to remove even fine contamination that could not be eliminated completely with cold water.
Step 2: Mineral Scale Removal and Degreasing
After washing, we used a dedicated cleaner to remove the remaining mineral scale from the body. Because our shop understands the water conditions in the Fukaya and Kumagaya areas, we can accurately address water spot problems that are particularly common in this region.
Stubborn mineral scale was chemically broken down using a dedicated remover and then carefully wiped away. If this stage is neglected, the remaining deposits can interfere with the later polishing process and affect the final result.
Once the mineral scale had been removed, we carried out thorough degreasing. Completely removing oils and contamination allowed us to maximize the effectiveness of the following sanding and polishing processes.
Step 3: Roof Sanding
This was the most important stage of the entire service. To remove the paint overspray scattered across the roof and body, we carried out a careful sanding process.
Sanding involves carefully refining the painted surface using dedicated abrasive paper and sanding pads. Because paint overspray bonds firmly to the paintwork, it cannot be removed through ordinary polishing alone. However, sanding too aggressively could damage the underlying paint, so this process requires experienced technical skill.
At our shop, we checked the paint thickness while progressively using the appropriate grades of abrasive paper. We first used a coarser grade to remove the raised particles of paint overspray, then gradually moved to finer grades to smooth the surface.
The roof was especially heavily affected by paint overspray, so we took considerable time to sand it carefully. We repeatedly checked the surface by hand and continued working until the rough texture had completely disappeared.

Step 4: Mirror-Finish Paint Correction
Although the sanding process removed the paint overspray, fine sanding marks remained on the surface. We therefore used professional polishing machines and compounds to create a mirror finish.
We gradually changed between heavy-cut, medium-cut, and finishing compounds to completely remove the sanding marks. Nissan Roox paintwork is relatively soft, so we carefully controlled the polishing pressure and machine speed throughout the process.
We treated not only the roof but also the paint overspray scattered across the rest of the body, refining the entire vehicle into a consistent mirror finish. Through polishing, the previously rough surface became smooth to the touch, and the original gloss returned.
Step 5: Final Degreasing and Inspection
Once polishing was complete, we carried out another thorough degreasing process. This removed all oily residue from the polishing compounds and any remaining fine contamination, improving the adhesion of the coating.
At this stage, we carefully inspected the entire body. We checked every detail for any remaining paint overspray or uneven polishing. To ensure that customers visiting us from the Kumagaya and Fukaya areas can leave their vehicles with confidence, we place particular importance on strict quality control.
Step 6: GARACORT BASE Coating Installation
We then applied GARACORT BASE coating to the perfectly prepared paintwork. The GARACORT BASE coating used at our shop forms a hard protective layer that provides long-term protection against scratches and contamination.
We carefully applied the coating using a dedicated sponge, spreading it evenly without leaving any uneven areas. Because the paintwork had been perfectly prepared through sanding and polishing, the coating achieved excellent adhesion and can be expected to provide reliable long-term protection.

The Shine of the Roof and Body Was Completely Restored
The roof surface, which had previously felt extremely rough, regained a mirror-like smoothness through sanding and polishing. When touched by hand, it now has a perfectly smooth and pleasant texture. The paint overspray particles were completely removed, creating a consistent and glossy finish.
The entire body was treated in the same way. The paint overspray and mineral scale were completely removed, restoring a beautiful, new-car-like shine. Thanks to the hard protective layer formed by GARACORT BASE coating, contamination will now be less likely to adhere, while future washing will also become much easier.
The Signs of the Body Repair Became Less Noticeable
The repaired rear section now blends naturally with the surrounding panels, creating a consistent overall finish. Although the vehicle suffered the unexpected problem of paint overspray, our professional techniques allowed us to restore it to an even more beautiful condition than before, leaving the customer extremely satisfied.

【ボディ全体の状態】
まず目についたのは、ボディ全体に付着した無数のスケール（水垢や汚れの堆積物）でした。日常的な使用による汚れの蓄積に加え、洗車の際に残った水滴が乾燥して固まったミネラル分が、ボディ表面に白っぽい斑点となって残っていました。埼玉県内陸部、特に深谷・熊谷エリアは水質が硬めの地域も多く、このようなスケールが発生しやすい環境です。
さらに深刻だったのが、リア部分の板金塗装作業時に発生した塗装ミストの飛散でした。板金工場でリアパネルを塗装した際、周辺を十分に養生していなかったため、霧状になった塗料がルーフやボディの広範囲に飛散していたのです。
この塗装ミストは、ボディ表面に細かい粒子として固着し、触るとザラザラとした不快な手触りになっていました。特にルーフ部分は塗装ミストが多く付着しており、まるでヤスリのような状態でした。遠目には気づきにくいのですが、近くで見ると無数の小さな突起が確認でき、光沢も失われていました。
お客様は「板金は終わったけど、全体的にザラザラしていて気になる。何とかならないか」とご相談にいらっしゃいました。このような塗装ミストは通常の洗車では絶対に除去できず、専門的な処理が必要となります。

这些漆雾以细小颗粒的形式牢固附着在车身表面，用手触摸时会感觉非常粗糙，令人不适。特别是车顶部位附着了大量漆雾，表面甚至像砂纸一样粗糙。从远处观察时很难发现问题，不过近距离查看后，可以看到无数细小凸起，车漆原本的光泽也已经消失。
客户来到本店咨询道：“钣金修复虽然已经结束了，但整个车身摸起来都很粗糙，让我非常在意。有没有办法解决？”
这种漆雾无法通过普通洗车去除，必须进行专业处理。
