🔍 Condition Before Installation｜No Major Scratches, but Dullness and Signs of Everyday Use Had Begun to Appear
When the Mercedes-Benz GLC arrived at our shop, there were no noticeable deep scratches or major areas of damage.
However, we found:
・Light dullness across the entire body
・Cloudy reflections caused by car-wash scratches
・Contamination around the doors and detailed areas
・Brake dust around the wheels
These were signs of damage and contamination that had gradually accumulated through everyday use.
Dark-colored vehicles in particular can quickly begin to feel as though they have “lost their gloss” or “no longer look new,” even when only slight dullness or fine scratches are present.
We also frequently receive enquiries from customers in the Fukaya City and Kumagaya City areas who say:
“The gloss doesn’t return even after washing.”
“I’m not sure whether I should have a coating applied.”
For vehicles in this condition, professional coating installation with thorough surface preparation is extremely effective👍
🪣🧼 During Installation｜Thorough Surface Preparation from Washing and Iron Removal to Degreasing
We began with the washing process🫧
While carefully checking the entire body, we removed contamination section by section.
Because the GLC has a large body and dirt can easily remain in detailed areas, we took plenty of time to thoroughly clean:
・Around the emblems
・Inside the doors
・Moldings and narrow gaps
Each area was cleaned carefully and thoroughly🧽
After washing, we moved on to iron contamination removal🔧
When the iron remover was sprayed onto the body, the bonded iron particles reacted by turning purple and became clearly visible as they lifted from the surface🟣😳
Although iron particles are normally difficult to see, leaving them untreated can cause roughness and eventually contribute to rust.
For this reason, iron removal is an essential step before coating installation.
After removing the iron contamination, we performed light paint correction to refine the paint surface and bring out its gloss✨
Another extremely important stage was degreasing🧴
After polishing, oily residue from the compounds and cleaning products can remain on the body.
We therefore used a dedicated degreasing agent to thoroughly remove all remaining residue.
By carrying out this process carefully, GARACORT BASE coating can bond securely to the paintwork and deliver its full performance👍
Once the surface preparation was completely finished, we applied GARACORT BASE coating.
The glass coating product was carefully spread in even vertical and horizontal passes, with repeated checks to ensure there were no uneven areas🖐️
Even though this vehicle was treated through our opening campaign, no steps were omitted.
We completed the work to exactly the same quality standard as our regular coating services💪
