The customer, who visited us from Fukaya City, had just purchased a brand-new Toyota RAV4.
They contacted us saying, “Since it is a brand-new vehicle, I want to make sure it is properly protected from the very beginning.”
Because the vehicle had only recently been delivered, the paintwork was generally in good condition. However, we found fine scratches caused during transportation and pre-delivery storage.
As the RAV4 is an SUV, it also features a large number of unpainted plastic components.
Protecting these areas with a coating while the vehicle is still new makes it easier to preserve their beautiful condition over a long period💪
【Condition Before Installation】
We began by carefully inspecting the vehicle.
Although this was a brand-new RAV4, we found several fine scratches caused during storage and transportation before delivery.
While the vehicle is stored at the dealership, minor scratches can sometimes be caused by pre-delivery washing or friction from protective covers.
The hood and door panels in particular had fine linear scratches that were visible under direct sunlight.
Even a brand-new vehicle is not always in perfect condition😢
The RAV4 also features many unpainted plastic components around the fenders, lower sections of the bumpers, and side mirrors.
If these plastic components are left untreated, ultraviolet exposure can cause them to deteriorate and develop a whitish, faded appearance.
Protecting them with a coating while the vehicle is still new helps preserve their rich black color for longer🖤
We also found a small amount of bonded iron contamination on the body.
Areas such as Fukaya, Kumagaya, and Hanazono are located near industrial zones, so even new vehicles may collect iron particles during transportation⚠️
We will remove the fine scratches through light polishing before protecting the vehicle with GARACORT BASE coating and an unpainted plastic trim coating✨
【Pure-Water Hand Wash and Careful Surface Preparation】
We began with a pure-water hand wash.
At GARACORT BASE, we use pure water for hand washing as part of the surface preparation process before applying a car coating.
Why do we use pure water? Ordinary tap water contains minerals, and when those minerals dry on the vehicle, they can cause water spots.
Pure water contains almost no minerals, making water spots much less likely to form.
Because this was a brand-new vehicle being prepared for coating, we were especially particular about using pure water💧
We first used a pressure washer to rinse contamination from the surface of the body.
Even though the vehicle was new, contamination picked up during transportation and storage still needed to be removed thoroughly.
After the pre-wash, we covered the entire vehicle in snow foam☁️
The fine foam lifted contamination away from the surface so it could be removed gently.
We carefully washed the RAV4’s rugged body using a generous amount of foam.
Using water heated to approximately 40°C together with a dedicated car shampoo allowed us to remove contamination effectively without damaging the new paintwork♨️
【Removing Iron Contamination to Clean the Paintwork】
After washing, we used a dedicated iron remover to eliminate bonded iron particles from the body.
Areas such as Kumagaya, Fukaya, and Hanazono are located near industrial zones, so even new vehicles may collect iron particles during transportation⚠️
When the iron remover was applied, it reacted with the particles and changed to a purple color🟣
Even a brand-new vehicle requires careful preparation.
If iron particles are left beneath the coating, they may eventually contribute to rust formation, so we removed them thoroughly.
【Removing Fine Scratches Through Light Polishing】
This is where our professional skill becomes especially important💪
Although the vehicle was new, we carefully removed storage marks and fine scratches through light polishing.
Because new vehicles generally do not have deep scratches, light polishing is sufficient.
Using a professional polishing machine and fine-grade compound, we removed only the fine scratches without unnecessarily affecting the paintwork.
Toyota RAV4 paintwork is relatively hard, but because the original new-car paint is extremely valuable, we carefully monitored the paint thickness and avoided removing more material than necessary.
With the minimum amount of polishing required, we refined the painted surfaces to create a mirror-like finish.
Once the fine scratches had been removed, the difference in gloss was dramatic✨
The reflections on the hood and door panels in particular changed completely🪞
We were able to bring out the original beauty of the new vehicle to its fullest potential.
【Degreasing and GARACORT BASE Coating Installation】
Once polishing was complete, we thoroughly degreased the vehicle.
If oils from the polishing compounds or other contamination remain on the surface, the coating may not bond correctly.
After completing the degreasing process, we began applying the GARACORT BASE coating💎

We carefully applied the coating using a dedicated applicator.
Applying the product evenly across the entire body of the RAV4 without leaving any uneven areas requires time and concentration.

「せっかくの新車だからこそ、最初からしっかり保護したい」とのことでご来店いただきました。
確認すると、納車されて間もないため塗装の状態は良好でしたが、新車特有の保管傷や輸送時についた細かいスクラッチが確認できました。
また、RAV4はSUVということもあり、未塗装樹脂パーツも多く使用されています。
これらも最初からしっかりコーティングして保護することで、長期間美しい状態を維持できます💪
【施工前の状態】
お車を詳しく確認していきます。
新車のRAV4ですが、納車前の保管や輸送の過程で、細かいスクラッチがいくつか確認できました。
ディーラーで保管されている間に、納車前の洗車やカバーの擦れなどで、微細な傷がついてしまうことがあるんです。
特に、ボンネットやドアパネルには、太陽光を当てると見える程度の細かい線傷がありました。
新車とはいえ、完璧な状態ではないんですよね😢
また、RAV4はフェンダーやバンパー下部、ドアミラーなどに未塗装樹脂パーツが多く使用されています。
この樹脂パーツは、そのままにしておくと紫外線で劣化し、白ボケしてしまうことがあります。
新車のうちからコーティングで保護することで、深い黒色を長期間維持できます🖤
ボディには若干の鉄粉も付着していました。
